White Rock Sea Festival

Chilliwack Sunflower Festival

The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival is an ode to of one of the best seasons of the year—summer! The fun begins in August 1 and runs until September 15. Abbotsford Agrifair

Honda Celebration of Lights

For three action-packed days and mesmerizing nights, the Honda Celebration of Light brings people together for a musical fireworks competition held every summer in Vancouver, Canada since 1990. A celebration of fireworks, food, and music. In the 29th season, Aug 3 will be the last performance of this year.

Brigade Days at Fort Langley

Brigade Days at Fort Langley is an annual event that usually runs all weekend – from the Saturday until the Monday. From 10 am to 5 pm each day at the National Historic Site there are usually historical re-enactments and interpreters in 19th-century-period costume. In addition to regular summer fort activities, highlights of the weekend also include demonstrations of trapping techniques and historic weapons On the BC Day statutory holiday Monday there’s the main event – the re-enactment of “The Arrival of the Fur Brigades” where characters in period costume paddle to the fort with their cargo.

Cultus Lake Night Slide

Cultus Lake Waterpark hosts an evening of night sliding and live music concerts on three different Fridays this summer. 2019 dates are July 19th, August 2nd and August 16th, from 8pm – midnight. During Night Sides events the place is packed with youth and young adults enjoying evening concerts and having a blast while sliding in the dark.

Maple Ridge Caribbean Festival

The Maple Ridge Caribbean Festival is a fairly large music festival that takes place on the Saturday and Sunday of the BC Day Long Weekend at the Albion Fairgrounds in Maple Ridge. The festival features dozens of food trucks, market vendors and two stages with fabulous outdoor music.

Movies Under the Stars

The evening showcases amazing local performers, arts and crafts, games, and other fun activities for everyone to enjoy all at no cost. Activities begin each night at 5:00pm, with the movies themselves getting underway at dusk. Aug 3rd’s movie will be Space Jam.

Vancouver Pride Parade & Festival

Vancouver and its LGBTQIA2+ community celebrates the 41st Pride Festival on the BC Day August long weekend in 2019. Pride events include the following:

  • Vancouver Pride Parade – the city’s world-famous and very colourful Pride Parade usually takes place on the Sunday from noon until close to 3 pm. The route starts at the corner of Thurlow and Robson and goes down Robson Street, then along Denman Street and Beach Avenue before finishing at Sunset Beach.
  • Sunset Beach Festival – the Pride Festival celebrations continue on the Sunday at Sunset Beach from 11 am to 6 pm.
