BC Day Long Weekend 2020

Kim PhillipsCommunity, Events

Happy long weekend everyone! We hope that you’re all able to get some downtime to relax and enjoy the sunshine this weekend. As we head into a BC Day long weekend like we’ve never seen before, we wanted to remind you to continue being safe. As Dr. Henry says, “Few faces in big spaces”. Let’s keep up the great work we’ve done as a province!

We wanted to remind you that travel restrictions are still in place at all Canadian international border crossings, so instead of heading down to the states this weekend, keep you and your family safe by staying local and visiting a park or beach, or going for a hike. Most provincial parks and public access beaches have introduced reduced parking to ensure social distancing, so be sure to plan ahead and arrive early to get a spot if you’d like to hang out with your family outside this weekend.

Click here to check out a few events going on this weekend! Many to choose from, all of which have Covid guidelines and practices in place.

And remember – as always – stay at home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority! Source: World Health Organisation
