Quick & Easy Kitchen Organization Hacks

Kim PhillipsTips, Lifestyle

There is no better time than spring and summer to tackle the organizational projects you’ve been putting off. The kitchen is often the place that sees the most activity in our homes. With the kitchen being such a high traffic space, it can be easy for cupboards to become cluttered and disorganized. The key with kitchen organization is to tackle one cupboard at a time. This way you won’t feel overwhelmed and you’ll feel accomplished as you go. Check out these great tips below to help organize your kitchen!

Organize Your Tupperware:

Firstly, pull all of your tupperware out of the cupboard and recycle any containers and lids that are overly stained and cracked. All of your containers that are still in good condition should be matched with lids. Any containers with no lids should also be recycled.

Clean Your Fridge:

We know, we know, this is everyone’s least favourite job! Once you have the fridge cleaned out and the shelves wiped down, consider adding an open container of boxing soda to the fridge. This will remove any unpleasant odours. Throw out and replace the baking soda every three months. You may also wish to invest in clear fridge organizers to help organize the contents of your fridge in a way that is visually appealing. You’re more likely to eat the food in your fridge if it looks appetizing.

Invest In Drawer Organizers:

Just like the bins for your fridge, you can also buy acrylic organizers for your cupboards and drawers. You can find excellent ones at Dollarama, Jysk and IKEA. Dollarama has some very affordable drawer organizers you can use to section out your drawers.

Use Jars & Clear Containers For Storage:

In your cupboards, store pantry and baking items in clear containers and jars. This will make it easier to see what you have and shop accordingly. Also, be sure to label your dry goods so you know exactly what is in each container. If you want to get extra fancy, you can also put your spices in glass containers and customize them with decorative labels like these printable free labels.
